‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Comes to Digital, But When Will It Be Streaming on Apple TV+?

Killers of the Flower Moon, the new celebrated film from director Martin Scorsese, will be available to buy and to rent on video-on-demand tomorrow, December 5.

The digital release of Killers of the Flower Moon—about six weeks after the film opened in theaters— came as a surprise via a press blast, announcing that the Apple-Paramount film was coming to “premium video-on-demand and for digital purchase,” on December 5, ahead of the movie’s streaming release on Apple TV+. The film will cost $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy on platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, and more.

Starring Lily Gladstone, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon is a period drama that tells the true story of the murders in the Osage Nation in the 1920s. The film, which was recently named Best Film of 2023  by the New York Film Critics Circle, was a joint release between Apple TV Studios and Paramount, with Paramount handling a six-week theatrical release of Killers of the Flower Moon, according to a feature on the film for the British Film Institute. So though this news may feel like a surprise, the digital release of Killers of the Flower Moon is right on schedule. But when will Killers of the Flower Moon be streaming on Apple TV+?

UPDATE 1/5/2024: Killers of the Flower Moon will begin streaming on Apple TV+ on January 12, a little over a month after the film was released on digital platforms. The streaming release date comes just in time for Oscar voting season, which will begin on January 11.
