Taylor Swift surprised the Dancing with the Stars cast with a sweet video message ahead of this week’s themed night, “A Celebration of Taylor Swift.”
The singer thanked ABC for the honor, saying she wished she could be there in person to show her support for the contestants.
“I so wish I could be there to see what you and your choreographers — and my friend Mandy Moore — have put together,” Swift said, referring to the lead choreographer on the Eras Tour. “I really wish I could be there, but I’m on tour in Brazil.”
She continued, “But I’m sending you guys all my love and best of luck to all the contestants.”
Swift recently told viewers that she would be tuning in to this week’s episode while on tour. “I can’t wait to see Dancing with the Stars’ celebration of my Eras next week,” she said in a video message during last week’s episode. “I will be there in spirit.”
The DWTS cast showed off their skills this week to her Grammy Award-winning music.
The six remaining couples gave it their all.
How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber kicked off the evening’s performances with Swift’s classic hit, “You Belong With Me.” The other couples followed with their own impressive routines to other hits from the artist, including “Blank Space” and “Look What You Made Me Do.” But Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach scored the most points of the evening with their tango routine set to Swift’s “Don’t Blame Me.”
That evening’s elimination revealed who this season’s semi-finalists will be.
Despite scoring the most votes they’ve received throughout the season, contestants Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold were eliminated.
This comes as no surprise considering the results of last week’s episode, when The Brady Bunch star Barry Williams was eliminated despite his rather successful run on the show. Many DWTS fans were disappointed and voiced that Jowsey should have been eliminated instead.
But many other audience favorites are still going strong. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and former Bachelorette Charity Lawson are still in the runnings.
Next week’s episode marks the semi finals.
