False alarm! One day after Amanda Bynes abruptly shut down her brand-new podcast, the former Nickelodeon star announced that she would be moving forward with new episodes, after all.
On Sunday night (Dec. 17), Bynes told her TikTok followers that she would “take a pause” on Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast after airing only one episode. According to The Amanda Show star, she was having trouble booking “the type of guests” she wanted like Jack Harlow, Drake, and Post Malone.
“So maybe one day, if we’re able to get those types of guests on the show, we will resume the podcast,” she explained. “But for now, I’m taking a pause on it. Thank you everyone who watched, I really hope you enjoyed it, and that is all for now.”
However, the star walked back her decision on Monday night (Dec. 18). In a new TikTok video, she revealed that she will drop her second episode this Friday (Dec. 22) with guest Nick Mendez, who is the Flight Club store manager in Los Angeles.
“I wanted to post something about how I felt last night after I made a post that we were pausing the podcast,” she said. “I felt really sad and I was like in a really bad mood because the podcast was something I was actually really looking forward to filming next week.”
She continued, “It was something I was really excited and happy about so I talked to a few friends and they all said to keep going so we’re going to continue the podcast.”
Bynes noted that she will continue filming next Friday “as planned,” adding that podcasts “take time to grow” and “build a following.”
“So I shouldn’t have said what I said last night about not getting the type of guests that we were looking forward to getting because you never know, we might get them in the future and the guests that we have lined up are actually really great,” she said, before concluding, “I’m really looking forward to filming the next episode, and that’s about it.”
Bynes first announced her podcast in November, teasing that she would “take it mainstream and interview celebrities and artists” in the future. The first episode aired on Dec. 9 and featured Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Dahlia Moth. While Bynes didn’t address her time as a child star, she did talk about her face tattoo, telling listeners, “Nobody cares anymore if people have face tattoos. It shouldn’t matter.”
