Lifetime’s newest holiday movie, A Cowboy Christmas Romance, has a familiar plot. Starring Jana Kramer, Adam Senn, and Bruce Thomas, the film centers on Lexie Crenshaw (Kramer), a real estate closer forced to return to her hometown to convince a horse-whispering rancher (Senn) to part ways with his family’s land.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m a sucker for any and all “protagonist reluctantly returns to their hometown” stories. A Cowboy Christmas Romance also made headlines after it was announced that the movie will be the first Lifetime Christmas film to include a sex scene.
“We think that there’s an audience out there that’s hungry for grown-up romance, and we’re looking forward to adding some smolder to the usual holiday sugar and spice,” Tia Maggini, SVP of scripted content at Lifetime, told Variety. “We love trying new things, and we’re excited about this new ‘first’ for us for a holiday movie.”
