Peter Morgan’s historical drama The Crown is coming to an end this year, and the first four episodes of the new season are out this week on Netflix. Also dropping this week is the new Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, as well as the fun new Prime Video dating series Twin Love where, you guessed it, twins try to find a life partner they’re not genetically identical to.

New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: The Crown, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Twin Love + More

We all know what’s about to happen on this season of Netflix’s The Crown, because while the show may take some liberties with its storytelling, it’s typically faithful to the chronology of events. And so, with this season picking up where we left off in 1997, we enter the dark and dreadful period surrounding Princess Diana’s final days. After you say goodbye, English Rose, you can say hello to two more shows with big premieres this week: Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, starring the father-son team of Kurt and Wyatt Russell, and Prime Video’s Twin Love, starring the sister-on-sister tag team of Brie and Nikki Garcia (aka WWE’s The Bella Twins), who host a dating show that tries to pair twins up with the perfect mate.

New on Netflix November 16: The Crown (Season 6, Part I)

Season 6 of The Crown might be the most anticipated – and the most dreaded – season of the series. Elizabeth Debicki’s portrayal of Princess Diana on the series is truly mesmerizing, but we all know what’s coming in the final season of the series: Diana’s tragic death and the turmoil that followed. The first four episodes of The Crown season 6 dropped this week, marking the beginning of the end of this brilliantly acted but often astonishingly uneven series.

New on Apple TV+ November 17: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn seem to get all the attention when we talk about parent-child relationships from that family line, so it’s about time we give some love to Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt, who have paired up for the new Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The series is a follow-up to the 2014 Godzilla film, and co-stars Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, and Ren Watabe. The first two episodes will premiere Friday, with new episodes airing weekly on Fridays after that.

New on Prime Video November 17: Twin Love

Twin Love is better than it should be, and that’s because not only are its hosts, the Bella Twins, genial and fun, but the premise of the show is clever and entertaining, more of an experiment than a dating show. On the show, ten sets of twins are split up to see how they cope in the dating world without their trusty, genetically identical wingman or wingwoman at their side. Will the twins pair up with other twin siblings? Or perhaps more interestingly, will they realize they’re better off when they don’t have their go-to support system at their side?
