Does ‘Yellowstone’ Return Tonight? ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5, Part 2 Premiere Date Info

What’s everybody watching this weekend? Personally, there are a trio of relatively new documentaries I’m looking to stream on Netflix — The Improv: 60 and Still Standing, Sly, and Yogi Berra: It Ain’t Over — and you can never go wrong with Graham Yost’s phenomenal action drama Justified. If you happen to be one of the many, many people missing Yellowstone, the first three episodes of Lawman: Bass Reeves, which is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, are currently streaming on Paramount+ (and the pilot will air later tonight on CBS).

But let’s get back to the matter at hand, shall we? There won’t be a new episode of Yellowstone on Paramount Network tonight, but we do know when the beloved Western is scheduled to return with new episodes. When exactly does Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 premiere? Here’s everything we know.

Is Yellowstone on Tonight (11/12/23)?

Sadly, Yellowstone isn’t on Paramount Network tonight. The network is airing the 1993 film Tombstone at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by Django Unchained at 10:00 p.m. ET.

CBS will air the Yellowstone Season 2 episode “Only Devils Left” at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by the series premiere of the Paramount+ series Lawman: Bass Reeves at 9:00 p.m. ET.

When Does Yellowstone Return With New Episodes?

Two weeks ago, Paramount Network announced that Yellowstone will return for the second half of Season 5 in November 2024. The network also revealed that two new Yellowstone spinoffs — currently titled 1944 and 2024 — are forthcoming.

No plot details for 1944 or 2024 were announced, but Variety reports that 2024 is expected to begin airing following the conclusion of Yellowstone, with the show featuring “new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.” This is the series that would most likely include Matthew McConaughey, who’s been rumored to star in a Yellowstone spinoff since April.

The second half of Season 5 was originally supposed to consist of six episodes, but during a June 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sheridan said that he might write more than the previously reported six episodes. “If I think it takes 10 episodes to wrap it up, they’ll give me 10,” he said. “It’ll be as long as it needs to be.”

How To Watch Yellowstone Online:

All five seasons of Yellowstone are available on Peacock Premium. You can also watch select Season 5 episodes on-demand via the Paramount Network website, fuboTVSling TV (the $6/month “Comedy Extra” add-on), Hulu + Live TVYouTube TVPhilo, or DIRECTV STREAM.

Finally, individual episodes and complete seasons of Yellowstone are available to purchase on Amazon.

Is Kevin Costner Leaving Yellowstone?

Production on the second half of Season 5 has yet to begin, so Costner’s level of involvement in the remaining episodes remains a mystery. The actor revealed in a September court trial that he was initially offered $24 million to do Seasons 5, 6, and 7 of Yellowstone but there were “issues with creative.”

Per Deadline, another source of contention centered around the actor’s shooting schedule. Costner reportedly wanted more time to spend on his upcoming multi-part Western movie Horizon: An American Saga, a film in which he starred, directed, co-wrote, and produced.

The situation remains fluid — Costner said in September that he’ll “probably go to court” over his Yellowstone exit — so it’s safe to say that he almost certainly won’t be involved in future spinoffs.
