Call Me Kat has been canceled by Fox after 3 seasons, due to a ratings shift. Starring The Big Bang Theory alum Mayim Bialik, the comedy series aired its now final episode just days ago on the network.
The show, which is based on Miranda Hart‘s BBC comedy Miranda, centers on a college professor who leaves her job to open a cat café. The Fox TV series was produced by Warner Bros. TV, BBC Studios America and Fox Entertainment. Jim Parsons‘ That’s Wonderful Productions and Bialik’s Sad Clown Productions also produce.
The series now joins The Resident and 911 on the list of Fox shows leaving the network after this season, though the latter is moving to ABC for its seventh season according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ratings for Call Me Kat declined this season, which is not abnormal for subsequent seasons on network TV. The show averaged 2.23 million viewers and a 0.37 rating in the key ad demographic of adults 18-49 in Nielsen’s seven-day ratings. These numbers are down 24 percent and 38 percent from the 2021-22 season. Streaming data isn’t available.
In addition to Bialik, the show starred Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Julian Gant and Cheyenne Jackson. Leslie Jordan was a regular until he died in October 2022, halfway through production on Season 3.
Showrunners for Season 3 were Jim Patterson and Maria Ferrari, who also executive produced along with Bialik, Parsons, Todd Spiewak, Angie Stephenson and Hart.
