My Life With the Walter Boys, Netflix’s latest book-to-screen adaptation based on Ali Novakās bestselling novel of the same name, dropped its first 10 episodes on December 7, and in its first week it skyrocketed to the top spot on the platform’s Top 10 most-watched TV shows list.
The series follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a 15-year-old from Manhattan who moves to a farm in Colorado to live with her mom’s best friend Katherine (Suits star Sarah Rafferty) in the wake of a life-altering tragedy. With Walter boys everywhere Jackie turns, it doesn’t take long for Jackie to develop a crush on brothers Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole (Noah LaLonde), which predictably dials the drama up to 11.
If you sped through all 10 episodes of My Life With the Walter Boys and witnessed those chaotic finale cliffhangers, you’re likely wondering if we’ll be seeing more of Jackie’s story in the future. Curious if Netflix renewed My Life With the Walter Boys for a Season 2? Or if there’s a second book you can read while you await updates?
Here’s everything to know about My Life With the Walter Boys on Netflix.
My Life With the Walter Boys Ending Explained: Who Does Jackie End Up With, Alex Or Cole?
First things first, what went down in the final moments of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 1? Did Jackie end up with Alex or Cole Walter in the end? Welp, in a last-minute twist, Jackie ends the season with a THIRD Walter brother: Danny! Allow me to explain.
After spending a major chunk of the season dating Alex despite clearly still having a spark with Cole, Jackie and Cole finally kiss in Season 1, Episode 10 “Happily Ever After.” Why? Because Jackie found the teapot she repaired for her along with his “NOTHING IS SO BROKEN IT CAN’T BE FIXED” note. The following morning, Alex wakes up with his massive wedding hangover and heads to Jackie’s room with breakfast, but her bed is made and she’s nowhere to be found. Instead, he finds the teapot and a note on her bed that reads, “I’m sorry.” Alex storms into Cole’s room, throws the note at him, and asks, “What did you do?!”
Before the end credits roll, we cut to the inside of a plane, where Jackie’s Uncle Richard is on the phone assuring Katherine he’ll call her when they get to New York. Sitting to Richard’s left is Danny, who’s headed to the city to immerse himself in all things theater and film, and Jackie unexpectedly takes the seat to his right. She powers off her phone and prepares to leave her love triangle back in Colorado. But is that where the story ends?
